Joie was born in China and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. At a young age, she showed a keen talent for art. In her senior year of high school, she earned the superlative of “Best Artist.” She chose to pursue her love of creating visual stories by attending the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film. She graduated magna cum laude in 2023, and yes, she did have Matthew McConaughey as a professor!
